How to remove ROZE spam from config.

Hello all who got the annoying roze or advertising virus in their config.

It will often send roze in chat or roze liknot eserver tov be zol? titkasher 057-753-599 Game-server.co.il 9, Game Seerv.co.il Serverin…. or something similar. A lot of you get kicked or banned for spamming the server even it really isn’t your fault.

How to remove this annoying spam?

Go to your cstrike folder and find your config. In most computers it’s placed in this location: local disc C, program files, steam, steamapps, "your steam account name", counter strike, cstrike. The adress will look something like mine:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\hotsili\counter-strike\cstrike. Even the accountname "hotsili will be your accountname instead.

When you have found your config.cfg. file you right-click on it and open it with notepad; then you will be able to read whats inside it.It can look like this:

All those who has a line through the text is the spam/virus that has been put into your config.

To get rid of it you have to delete all the text from say. If we take an example:
bind "g" "drop;say Want Buy Server? www.Game-Serv.co.il / 0548124323".

To explain what happens ind this bind it means that everytime you push g to drop a weapon, you will drop the weapon but also send a text in chat saying: Want Buy Server? www.Game-Serv.co.il/0548124323.

After removing the spamming text the same line should look like this:
bind "g" "drop"

In your config you only have to check all the bind part and carefully remove all the spamming text from your config. Be sure every line end with ".

When you have finished cleaning your config it’s a good idea to protect it agains changing again; by making it a “read only” file. Close your config, right-click on it and choose properties in the buttom. Then in the new window under Attributes mark "read only" and push OK.


In case you think it’s too hard for you to clean your own config, you can copy paste my config into a notepad and then save it as the name config.cfg. After saving it you copy it into your cstrike folder and replace your own config-file with a new clean one.

This is the config text to be copy/pasted into notepad, please note halfway through this config I have marked <---- put your nick in here. After doing that you remove the <---- put your nick in here part. To copy/paste you hold your left mousebutton down and mark the text, then you click on your right mousebutton and choose copy. To paste it into notepad you open notepad and click your right mousebutton and choose paste: Here starts the config:

If your binds are different than mine; you can either make the changes immediately by open the config and make the changes or keep it closed, start steam and then do the changes in options. F.ex. have I bound "ALT" for speaking in game, but you might prefer another key for your ingame speaking.

When all changes has been done it’s a good idea to protect your config to be changed again. You again find your config-file in cstrike. This time you don’t open it but right-click on it and then choose properties in the buttom of window that opens. Then in attributes in buttom of this window mark "read-only" and push OK. Now your config is protected.

In case you need to do changes to your config, remember you first have to remove the "read only" mark in properties otherwise it wont keep the new changes. But remember to make it "read only" after the changes.

hast jetzt aber nich geschrieben wie man das raus nimmt^^
denke aber da is iwo ein bind der imemr los geht wenn man nen server joint/stirbt/neuerunde ist man muss denke ich eifnach nur den text suchen ^^

Das sind Tastenbinds wie auch in anderen Threads mehrfach nebenläufig beschrieben. Leute, die sich mit config-Dateien auskennen können die entsprechenden Teile einfach rauseditieren, andere können einfach ihre Config zurücksetzen, indem sie entweder einfach die config.cfg löschen oder in Counterstrike und Optionen diese zurücksetzen.
